Asher talked with Entertainment Tonight about his rumored role in Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid. He’s in the running for the part of Prince Eric. Asher as Prince Eric?! Anyone else think that casting would be perfect? Good luck, Asher!

Actor and singer Asher Angel was spotted attending the 2019 iHeartRadio Wango Tango concert this weekend, where he spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the possibility of a Shazam! sequel, and about his girlfriend, Annie LeBlanc.
While there has been no official confirmation of a Shazam! sequel, Asher did reveal that he’s hopeful to continue the story with another film.
“It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we need to believe there’s a sequel,” he said. “The first one did really well, so hopefully we get this thing shooting soon before we grow up and I turn into him. We don’t want that!”
“I’m very interested to see where Billy’s character development goes,” he continued. “He has super powers and he finds his family, so what’s next? And he defeated the bad guys, so what’s next?”
As for other the other projects coming up, Asher revealed that he’d be open to making music with his girlfriend, Annie LeBlanc in the future:
“Hopefully in the future,” he said. “That would be really cool. We’ll see.”
Asher also spoke about what it was like going public with his relationship, saying that both his and Annie’s fans have been “the best.”
“I wouldn’t be where I am without my fans, and like, her fans are great. It’s just amazing overall. It’s so cool, and she’s the best,” he said.
“I love her smile. She’s like, very supportive. She’s literally the best. And she makes me laugh constantly. I love you!”

Disney Channel’s groundbreaking coming-of-age series Andi Mack is saying goodbye.
The teen-centered sitcom, which has been on hiatus since March 1, is returning to finish out its third season before signing off the little screen. Andi Mack will air its final episodes every Friday starting June 21, which will feature back-to-back episodes, and will conclude with a series finale July 26.
“Andi Mack was a labor of love for a room of impassioned, inventive writers, a talented and dedicated crew, and an extraordinary, miraculous cast who inspired us all,” said Minsky in a statement Wednesday. “We had the honor of breaking a lot of new ground for Disney Channel. We were its first serialized show, its first series centered around an Asian-American family and its first to feature an LGBTQ character who spoke the words, ‘I’m gay.'”
Minsky continued, “But the best part of making Andi Mack was our audience, who let us know we mattered to them. The series finale is for them.”
The final episodes of Andi Mack air Fridays, June 21-July 26, at 8 p.m. on Disney Channel and Disney NOW.
